There was some really helpful public information from the Bosnian Ministry of the Blindingly Obvious yesterday – They advised Pokemon Go players that entering live minefields in an attempt to catch pokemon was a very silly thing to do.  This reminded us of a very special public information poster only published for children in Northern Ireland during the Troubles in the seventies.

TuftyThe ‘Tufty Club’ was a squirrel based information service mostly advising and chastising young children in the UK on how to cross the road safely.  But in Northern Ireland Tufty also took it upon himself to make sure kids didn’t enter abandoned and derelict buildings.  The reasons were two fold; paramilitaries had a habit of setting booby trap bombs in these buildings for unsuspecting police and army patrols, and some army units also used these buildings for secret observation posts.  Luckily Tufty was here to help.  Maybe he’ll appear on a Pokemon stop soon…
